Does my business need management accounts?
Filed in: Accountancy

Harrisons Accountants in Biggleswade prepare management accounts for clients but do you need management accounts and what are they?

Financial accounts give a picture of what has happened in the past but most people have these prepared several months after their year end. This means that a lot of the data is old and could be out of date.

Management accounts are invaluable in looking at more current information meaning management can make decisions about the future of the business. Whilst the management accounts review historical data, say for a month or quarter, these can also include forward looking to estimate the next months results or even cashflow.

Even if you are not having actual management accounts prepared for your business, it is important that you are able to evaluate how the business is doing. This can be so that cost cuts can be made in good time or so that funds can be put away for upcoming tax payments.

If you would like any further information on management accounts or are interested in Harrisons Accountancy assisting you in preparing these or preparing them on behalf of your business, please contact us.
